Cmd Shift was a free, two-year project for young people aged between 8 and 24 exploring movement and interactive technology in a digital vs physical playground.

Led by Shaper/Caper’s Artistic Director, Thomas Small, we worked with artists and creators from Dundee’s fantastic creative industries sector to introduce young people to interactive technology both old and new.

From Space Invaders to sound design, young people worked with us to explore how movement could act as a trigger for a range of digital interactions, using projection mapping to bring inanimate objects to life.

Amazingly, this project was completely FREE thanks to support from the Big Lottery's Young Start Fund.

The project took place in Dundee with our partners at The Factory Skatepark, and also in Angus and Aberdeenshire.

Sessions took place on a weekly basis in each of the three locations and featured intensives too.  Participants didn’t need to have any experience in movement or digital arts to take part.

Those who came along met some new friends and played with some exciting technology to make a performance like they’d never seen before!

Huge thanks to #NationalLottery players and the Big Lottery Young Start fund for making this project possible.
