About this role:
We’re recruiting for two roles: an experienced Production Manager and an experienced Stage Manager to support the safe, smooth, and high-quality delivery of rehearsals, technical preparation, performances, and get-out for productions, ensuring that performers, creative team members, and crew are well supported throughout the production process.
Shared Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the producer, creative team, performers and venue
staff to deliver the production effectively.
Contribute to a supportive, communicative and well-organised working
environment.
Follow agreed rehearsal, technical and performance schedules, including calls,
checks, resets and reporting.
Respond flexibly to the practical demands of working in touring venues and
around a busy performance schedule.
Support get-in, fit-up, daily running, derigging, re-rigging and get-out as required.
Undertake reasonable additional duties as needed and within the post-holder’s
skills and capacity.
Production Manager
The Production Manager will be the key point of coordination for the company and crew, supporting communication, care and the overall management of performances. They will oversee the get-in, fit-up and technical installation, and will operate the show during the performance run.
Attend selected studio rehearsals and support rehearsal calls.
Pre-plan production needs with the Artistic Producer and liaise with the Stage Manager
Plan and organise get-in, fit-up and rigging with the Lighting Designer and
production team.
Plan technical rehearsal schedules and support the rigging and plotting of the show.
Programme QLab for show operation.
Complete pre-show refocus, technical set-up and technical checks.
Operate the show and troubleshoot sound, lighting, video and AV issues during the run.
Call technical and dress rehearsals and manage the Stage Manager during the production period.
Oversee prop, front-of-house and performance checks in collaboration with the team.
Liaise with front-of-house staff and respond to live performance needs, including practical sound-level adjustments where required.
Produce daily show reports.
Complete post-show pack-away and support get-out at the end of the run.
Essential experience and skills: strong technical production experience across sound, lighting, effects and AV; fluent working knowledge of QLab and Eos; ability to plan and manage installations; calm troubleshooting under pressure; adaptability to touring conditions; confidence managing people and performances; excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Stage Manager
The Stage Manager will manage props, set, costumes, and staging during live performance, and will support the Production Manager throughout rehearsals and performances.
Attend studio rehearsals and become familiar with the script, props list, costume requirements, and staging requirements.
Source, prepare, and check props and costumes from store.
Prepare and organise props and costumes in the venue for rehearsals and performances.
Set props, costumes, staging before each performance, and pack/check/repair items afterwards.
Work the show on stage, including prop changes, onstage changes and support for quick changes.
Buy consumables as required between shows.
Identify laundry facilities to be used during the performance run.
Wash, iron and repair costumes between shows as needed.
Assist the Production Manager pre- and post-performance, and support get-out.
Essential experience and skills: strong stage management experience; practical props and backstage running skills; costume and prop repair and maintenance skills; excellent teamworking and communication; organised and detail-focused; positive, can-do approach and readiness to support wider production operations.
Working Approach
All roles require a collaborative, hands-on and flexible approach. The successful candidates will be confident working in a fast-moving environment, able to communicate clearly with a mixed team, and comfortable adapting plans in response to venue, schedule or performance needs.

Production Manager:Within this Dust mini-tour (Peebles and Perth), rehearsals w/c 31st August in Dundee, performances 4th/9th/10th September
Stage Manager: Within this Dust mini-tour (Peebles and Perth), rehearsals w/c 31st August in Dundee, performances 4th/9th/10th September
Stage Manager: Paper Moon residency at Dundee Rep, rehearsals w/c 8th December in Dundee, performances 16th-24th December inclusive, not 21st
The team will support rehearsals, technical preparation, performance running, backstage operations, costume and props management, show reporting and get-out. We are particularly keen to hear from people with strong practical experience, excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
Experience of touring would be especially useful.
