Dance Artist
Sophie Morrison
(she/her)
Sophie began dancing at Sandwickhill Dance Academy in the Isle of Lewis. She started with cheerleading classes at 10 years old and quickly joined all the classes on offer – hip-hop, ballet, jazz, contemporary! She enjoys exploring highly physical and dynamic movement qualities which combine contemporary dance and acrobatics.
She moved to Glasgow in 2019 to study an HNC in dance at West College Scotland, before heading to London to train at London Contemporary Dance School, where she achieved a first-class BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance. At LCDS, Sophie worked with a diverse range of choreographers including Liam Francis, James Cousins and SAY Dance company.
She is extremely interested in making dance inclusive to people of all ages and abilities, recently working on a performance project with Odysseys, a performing arts group for artists living with the effects of stroke.
Sophie is excited to be working on the ‘Well Good’ project, in partnership with the NHS, sharing dance with children around Scotland. She is also enjoying moving to Dundee and exploring a new city!
