Yolanda Aguilar

Initially trained as an actor in Madrid, moved to London to study Contemporary Dance and Physical Theatre.  Performed with Adam Benjamin (co-founder of Candoco Dance Company) and Green Candle Dance before moving to Scotland, where her career focus became Creative Learning and Community Dance.

Yolanda has worked as a coordinator, project manager and Creative Learning manager since 2010 in different arts organisations across Scotland and is the recipient of a Master’s with Merit in Arts, Festival, and Cultural Management by Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, where she created Shaper/Caper’s Business Plan as part of her final thesis.

She oversees the Finances and Fundraising, Human Resources, and general Operations at Shaper/Caper, also supporting the team as a Producer and a Creative Learning facilitator.  Yolanda established Shaper/Caper with Thomas as Assistant Director before becoming Director of Operations in 2016.

Her present interest is to investigate the ‘kaleidoscopic structures’ that underpin the arts as a social entrepreneurial practice, which she combines with the passion of living at the farm.

Yolanda is a trustee for Arts & Business Scotland.
