      Rebel Dykes Screening
This screening of Rebel Dykes follows a free workshop at DCA – book your tickets now!
Dundee Contemporary Arts are thrilled to welcome producer Siobhan Fahey to DCA Cinema for a live Q&A discussion after the screening.
Rebel Dykes arrives at DCA in all its ass-kicking, leather-wearing glory! This acclaimed documentary tells the story of a group of women who created a community around the first lesbian fetish club in the world, London’s Chain Reaction.
“…exuberant and inspiring”
The Dykes first met at Greenham Common in the 1980s, where they stood out as rebels and daring activists before converging on Brixton’s squatting scene. Taking over women’s centres and gay bars to create a vibrant musical and artistic underground, the group's SM club grew into a close polyamorous community. This brought outcry from mainstream feminists, and the Chain Reaction Dykes were forced to defend themselves against accusations of anti-feminism, violence and more.
This is an extraordinarily privileged glimpse into a bygone world by those who not only lived out their politics with heartfelt conviction but lived to tell the tale. Combining animation, archive footage and interviews, Rebel Dykes is an exuberant and inspiring big screen experience that you won't forget in a hurry.

Period. is an autofiction dance-theatre piece exploring the gender dysphoria and dysmorphia of non-binary identity.
Devised and performed by Alex McCrossan, with choreography by Thomas Small and music by Adrian Berenguer

PechaKucha | OutFest
Creative Dundee is delighted to be hosting this extra special PechaKucha in partnership with OutFest!
About this event
Creative Dundee is delighted to be hosting this extra special PechaKucha in partnership with OutFest, a festival of activity celebrating and exploring LGBTQ+ history as part of LGBTQ+ history month.
At this online event, we’ll be joined by speakers from the LGBTQ+ community, who will choose whatever they would like to talk about! PechaKucha is a simple quick-fire talking format – presenters show 20 images, each for 20 seconds - and this means that each talk is different, entertaining and inspiring!
PechaKucha, or ‘chit chat’ in Japanese, was developed by Klein Dytham Architecture, in Tokyo back in 2003. PKs now run all over the world – our last count was over 1,200 cities and growing. You can watch all previous PechaKucha Night Dundee talks here.
OutFest is delivered by Shaper/Caper and Dundee Pride, this event and the festival is supported by Scottish Government's Community Recovery Fund 2.
Speaker details to follow!
